Eurolebanese Medical Society

The Eurolebanese Medical Society was founded to create a European network of actors of Lebanese origin in the health sector. 

Our goals include:

   1.  Reinforce the relations among them
  2. Share their experiences in the different domains
  3. Benefit Lebanon from this experience, specifically members of the health sector 
  4. Insure the health of the Lebanese citizens through prevention, reinforcement et enhancement of available means.
  5. Organise meetings or seminars to coordinate and communicate their actions.

Elie Haddad

President

Endocrinologist graduated from USJ, Beirut, and specialised in endocrinology, diabetology and metabolic diseases from Université Toulouse.

Working as independant Endocrinologist in Paris since 2018. President and founder of the Société Libanofrançaise d’Endocrinologie et de Diabétologie (SOLFED) and of the Eurolebanese Medical Society (ELMS).

Elsa Mhanna

Treasurer

Originally from Faraya, Kesrouan, Elsa is a neurologist and neuroscientist. She specializes in neurodegenerative disorders and holds masters in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience from Sorbonne University,in ethics and bioethics from Université de Paris and in healthcare management from Université de Paris. She is a founding member of the SFN (Société Française de Neurologie) junior section and member of the board of SOFMA (Société Francophone des Mouvements Anormaux)

Jihad Jabbour

General Secretary

Originally from Bajje and currently works and resides in Rome, Italy. Vascular surgeon and holds a PhD in Angio-cardiothoracic surgical pathophysiology from LA Sapienza University.

Currently practices in “Policlinico Umberto 1” University Hospital as a medical executive with an experience of over 3000 open and endovascular interventions.

Marc Chalhoub

Chief Communications Officer

Paediatric surgeon graduated from Saint Joseph University (USJ), and Université de Paris. Holds a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Santé Publique (EHESP), as well as several diplomas in neonatal surgery, pediatric urology, laparoscopy and microsurgery. Member in several European and International Medical Societies.

Saadallah Tamer

Chief Technology Officer

Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgeon, graduated from Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), Belgium. Currently pursuing a fellowship in valve repair at Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), Netherlands. Member of the Belgian Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery (BACTS) and European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery (EACTS).  Originally from Akkar.

Maria Mitri

UK representative

Originally from Achrafieh-Beirut. Graduated from USEK in 2015 then specialized in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine at Saint Georges Hospital University Medical Center (SGHUMC) and University of Balamand Lebanon. Pursued a Fellowship in Cardiac Ultrasound in the Critically Ill patient at University College London and currently working as Senior Clinical Fellow at Guys and St Thomas Trust. Associate Member of the Faculty of intensive Care Medicine (FICM -UK) & British Society of Echocardiography , FUSIC Lung Mentor

Anthony Kamel

Senior project

Originally from El-Azra, Ftouh Kesserwan, he is an orthopedic surgeon graduated from the universities of USEK (Lebanon) and Paris-Diderot (France).
   
Specialized in sports medicine and surgery and a fellow in knee and shoulder surgery. He holds diplomas in arthroscopic surgery and musculoskeletal injuries related to sports (Paris-Diderot). He is a master M2 student in biomechanics at the “Université de Paris” and a member of the French Society of Sports Traumatology (SFTS).

Elie Najem

Senior Project

Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Resident Physician at the AUBMC with particular interest in biotechnology and entrepreneurship.

Member of “Resident Staff Organisation” and of medical board at AUBMC.

Dr. Najem considers the ELMS a solid and vibrant network through which individual goals are met while ultimately improving the Lebanese healthcare society as a whole.

Jihad is a general practionner living in Belfort (East of France since 1988). He holds a medical degree from Besançon school of medicine and is specialized in gerontology and geriatrics.
He currently has his own practice in Belfort and has already done numerous humanitarian missions in the medical field.

Currently attending at Rouen university hospital and head of the expert referal center for viral hepatitis.
President of the Normandy viral hepatitis network.

Joseph Mouallem

Senior Project

Born in Ain Lebanon and in France since 1983. Joseph has studied medecine in Montpellier and underwent cardiology residency in Dijon. He has degrees in cardiac rehabilitation and therapeutic education. He is a full time practitioner at Langres hospital (head of the cardiac rehabilitation unit) and in his private practice

Maria-Cristina Kassab

Team leader

Born and raised in Jounieh, Lebanon to a multicultural family (from Lebanon to Europe, Central America and North America), she moved to France in October 2019 during her 4th year of residency. She received both her medical doctorate (2016) and her degree in specialized studies in anesthesiology and critical care (2021) from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK). She currently works at the Marie Lannelongue hospital.

Pamela Alhoueiss

Originally from Ain El Sofsaf, Metn. Medical degree from USEK in 2015 and internal medicine specialisation at AUB in 2018. Previously, Research fellow in the department of diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism at AUB. She has a master in biomedical engineering: molecular and cellular biotherapy from Paris-Descartes university and is currently doing a PhD in immunology at Institut Cochin in Paris. She is also pursuing a diploma in Medical education from Université de Paris.

Hussein El Hajj

Originally from Aramta. Gynecologist and Obstetrician graduated from USJ and Université de Paris. Subspecialist in gynecologic oncology surgery, breast cancer and breast reconstruction surgery as well as robotic and minimally invasive surgery. Holds several diplomas in gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, laparoscopy, colposcopy and gynecologic and obstetric imaging. Member in several French, European and International Medical Societies. Member of HOPE association for helping female cancer patients.

Chantal Al Khoury Wakim

Senior project advisor

Chantal Al Khoury Wakim: Originally from Kfarakka El-Koura North Lebanon, she moved to Paris in August 2015 to pursue master degree in molecular and cellular Biology at Pierre and Marie Curie University. In 2020 she earned her PhD degree from Paris University for her work on the transcriptional regulation of the hepatic circadian clock at Institut Necker Enfants Malades. Currently she is a postdoctoral fellow at Curie institute working on decoding the molecular “SECRETS” of Aging and inflamma-aging.
